Jeremiah 34:4–5

Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah! Thus says the Lord concerning you: ‘You shall not die by the sword. You shall die in peace; as in gthe ceremonies of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, hso they shall burn incense for you and ilament for you, saying, “Alas, lord!” For I have pronounced the word, says the Lord.’ ”

Jeremiah 34:4–5 — The New International Version (NIV)

“ ‘Yet hear the Lord’s promise to you, Zedekiah king of Judah. This is what the Lord says concerning you: You will not die by the sword; you will die peacefully. As people made a funeral fire in honor of your predecessors, the kings who ruled before you, so they will make a fire in your honor and lament, “Alas, master!” I myself make this promise, declares the Lord.’ ”
